Match report Saturday 8th March 2014

Cup Match v Heavitree United...Final score Heavitree 3 v Redstar 2

Fiercely fought, closely contested,..contentious......both teams displayed comittment and determination from the very beginning.  Within a few mintues captain Lewis Hussey had opened the scoring with a fine goal.  No room for complacency as Heavitree equalised soon after but by half time Redstar were ahead again as a superb cross from Ben was tapped into the back of the net by Will.  During the second half, exciting, end to end football ensued as both times kept battling to win a place in the semi-final of the cup.  Full of determination, Heavitree pulled one back and this nail bitting match was 'even Stephen' at 2 v 2!  However, as the minutes ticked away Redstar were unable to thwart the mounting attack by Heavitree who hit a 3rd goal close to the end of the match to take them through to the next round.....well done Redstar for a fine performance - we'll be back next season!

Match Report for Saturday 11 January 2014  home at KGV

Central Redstar 3 v City Raiders 0

Redstar opened this match with determined, attacking football with Camden and Will both keen to find the back of the net in the opening minutes.  Redstar's defenders, notably Matthew and Lewis were also in determined mode.  The first goal soon came as Josh passed the ball to Will who decisively hit the ball home.

Throughout the first half Redstar mounted pressure on Raiders playing confident, passing football. Just before half time a Camden shot deflected past the goalkeeper to make it two nil to Redstar.  During the second half Matthew and Lewis continued to defend well.

Not content to simply defend, Redstar soon managed a third goal, Will, set up by Ben, hit his second decisive shot on target.  Final Score a deserved 3 to Redstar v 0 City Raiders.  Matthew was named as Nigel's man of the match for his brave defending.

Central Under 13s

Created: Wednesday, 09 October 2013 00:00

Here we go again!!! The start of a new season approaches!!

Central Under 13s have two teams Central Rovers in League 1 and Central City in League 2 of the Exeter Youth League. For the first time we will be playing11 a side on full size pitches and full size goals which should be fun! Both teams are keen to play decent football and have some decent banter along the way!

Ross Clotworthy manages Rovers with the help of Luke Abraham (Abezs) and Neil Brook and Scott Blake manages City. Also in the coaching set up we have Oliver Warren who has helped us through his Duke of Edingburgh programme and two of our parents are also Level 1 qualified so thats 7 Level 1 coaches in our teams now that's impressive!! Ross and Luke are also doing their Level 2 coaching badges this Autumn. Tim Clotworthy is also about doing as little as possible as usual!

The under 13s webpage will hopefully be kept up to date with match reports etc but the theme will very much be lighthearted and fun!

 Match results too date:

6th September: Central City 6 City Raiders 3

27th September: Central City 10 Millwey Rise 3

4th October: Central Ciy 5 Ottery St Mary 2: Central City come out fighting and book their place in the next round after seeing off Ottery 5-2. Declan Blake got them off to a flyer after a super cross from man of the match Alex Kotsogiannis, Lucas Coveney adding 2 with great finishes and another solid display from James Dodd helping himself to a brace, the defence and goal keeper were solid enough to wash away the 8-1 loss they had to Ottery in the league but on the whole a great team display . Man of the match : Alex Kotsogiannis for a powerful midfield display.

29th November: Central City 7 Cullompton 3.

14th March 2015: Cup Semi final: Westhill 3 Central City 4: An amazing display from Scott's City beating League 1 Westhill 4-3 in an epic battle to play in the final at St James Park against Central Rovers - well done to Scott and his team a great advertisement for Central Youth Football Club.
