It would be good for all of us for when defending to look at this:

defending one on ones (I especially like the point about keeping the eye on the ball and deciding when to tackle/not to tackle, and the point about keeping on the toes slightly side on stance and forcing attacker wide:

MATCH REPORT - 3rd October 2015

2 victories again this last weekend against Dawlish. Unfortunately I don't know which result was against which Dawlish team (Dawlish United and Dawlish City). Apologies as I wasn't there to witness the fantastic football.

Thanks to Felix Western for this weeks review of proceedings...

"Today we played really well in both games against Dawlish. We won our first game 3-1 with Fin and Ali getting the goals. We then won our next game a smashing 5-1 victory over the second team.

Dawlish also hit the crossbar early on, which was really close to going in!

Dawlish played very well with one man down, but we took our chances well with Ben, Ali and Fin getting the goals. Ben’s first would’ve gone past Manuel Neuer!

James made great saves in goal, while Fin and Ali got a hatful of goals. Ben was class in defence and midfield getting two goals in the second game. Enrique was again doing great passes and tricky dribbling. Fraser was good running down the wing, and Ruben was fantastic in Defence and running down the wing.

I don’t think we had a champagne moment but I’ll give it to Ben for his first goal."

Central City  12                Hemyock Youth  1

Saturday 3rd October 2015

This weekend saw Central City under 11`s again totally dominate a game for the first to the last whistle in their league encounter against a brave and commited Hemyock Youth team.

After a first five minutes of finding their feet City suddenly clicked into gear and scored a goal from 25 yards out, Charlie Heaton, picking up the ball just inside the Hemyock half he jinxed pass 2 players and let fly beating the keeper low to his left hand side.

City never looked back hitting their visitors on the break with a fine team goal Alfie Pickering laying the ball out to the wide left where William Franchi ran down the wing floating in a fine cross which was laid back to George Russell who`s first time effort was dispatched into the opposite corner to put City 2-0 up.

City`s third was direct from a corner, Aram Share-Turner floated in the ball from the left hand side, it evaded everyone and nestled into the side netting inside the goal.

Three soon became four, Charlie Heaton latching onto a through ball from Thom Robertson drawing the keeper and slotting it pass him into the empty net.

City then got caught, a quickly taken throw over the top of the defence saw the Hemyock striker run clean in on goal, he unleashed a thunderous shot and dispite the efforts of City keeper Corey Chudley the power of the shot was too much allowing the visitors to pull one back.

City`scored 3 further goals before the break skipper Jack Long shooting in after picking up the second ball from a corner,

William Franchi running from the halfway line to slot pass the advancing keeper

and George Russell scoring with his weaker left foot.

Half Time 7-1

The first 5 minutes of the second half belonged to William Franchi,  running at the Hemyock defence let fly with a shot beating the keeper into the top right hand corner then completing his hat trick following up a rebound off the post, with the Hemyock goalkeeper still on the floor rolled the ball into the net.

Two subsitutes combined for City`s 10th George Baker rolling the ball into the path of Wiktor Iwanicki whos low hard shot found the bottom corner of the net.

George Russell completed his hat tick and Aram Share-Turner scoring his second completed the scoring on a comfortable day for the hosts where the City goalie touched the ball only twice, once not being able to stop the Hemyock goal and taking a goal kick mid way through the second half.

MATCH REPORTS - SEPTEMBER 26TH

GAME 1: Copplestone Sharks 0   Central Santos 5

"The players were the following:

• in goal ,a variety of people but mainly me ,Albert

• In defence, at the heart, Cody and will and sometimes Charlie

• And in the center Noah and Joe

• On the right and left Albert on the left sometimes but otherwise Niall or Fin and Finley

Overall In this game we played very well, and Finley Brown and Finley Garmen played two amazing balls over the top of their defence which led to two good goals. Eventually they ran through our midfield but Cody and Will managed to stop them by working as a team.    Afterwards we played the football through to Noah who got past one of their players and passed to Joe, who played it through to Finley Brown who missed by an inch. After a while They got through again but this time Charlie stopped them by blocking and making an amazing tackle. Then things got exciting and Niall ran through the wing and scored a screamer. After a while Albert broke through and crossed to Niall

Who scored yet another goal. And that left us with a good victory of 5-0."

GAME 2: Stoke Hill Athletic 1   Central Santos 4

2 REPORTS FOR THIS ONE!!

"The second game of the day we played Stoke Hill Athletic. Stoke Hill were a very good side but we played better because we passed it round them and made some good attacks. Will was amazing; he made some great defensing tackles. Noah was brilliant at passing and playing the ball up the pitch. He made some good through balls and long passing.

"The player of the day was Will because he played really well in defense. Albert was a great goalkeeper. He made some really good outstanding Saves. He has been are keeper four 3 or 2 years now and he is improving by every day and week.

Joe W was really good at center mid and made some outstanding tackles. Niall wanted to play but he felt sick the other day but he played really well. Fin B was amazing at running up the line and crossing it in four Noah to header it in. He scored 3 goals and all of them were really good.

Fin G came on in the second half and made some really well passes and long balls. Charlie was a great roll model to every one in is team. He kept getting back when they did not. Cody scored a great goal were Noah played it short to fin b and fin passed it to Cody. He was out side the box and just scored."

The stats were 4 :1 to Santos!"

Match report by Cody Dowdall

"First of all heavitree took kick-off and then we, straight away and played through , but we got tackled and were un-able to score. After a while Charlie played a great ball to Joe who passed forwards to Fin who scored a good goal. Will made some great tackles and Cody as well, but unfortunately they ran through our defence in the second half, and scored a goal, which is the first goal we’d conceded this season. Afterwards we all talked about the match and decided to give man of the match to Will who had saved us about a million times! We were happy with our 4-1 victory

And all of us decided to start passing more, [ even Fin Brown]"

GOOO Santos!

STOKE HILL 1   CENTRAL GALAXY 5

COPPLESTONE 2   CENTRAL GALAXY 4

MATCH REPORT BY TOM WRAITH

"Today we were just too good.  We won both our games against Stoke Hill and Copplestone. In our first game we played Stoke Hill and won 5-1. We were losing 1-0 and then Billy scored a great goal - Fin had a great effort and hit the post and then Billy curled it in bottom corner just before half time. Then we really dominated them in the second half with Fin and Aiden scoring. One of Fin's was a cracker!

In the second game the first half was pretty boring - 0-0 at half time. The second half was way more exciting, with Enrique scoring the best goal so far this season I think. From the half way line we dribbled through all their defenders and then he had a long shot curled it top right - actually Enrique scored two so a great day for him. Fraser at the back like brick wall getting well stuck in, Ali on the left and in goal great efforts. Reuben at the back solid as well when Stoke hill were about to score he came took the ball nicely with a slide tackle and also scoring his first goal of the season. Aiden scored in the first game and used his pace in second game, Fin just amazing at doing everything. Last but not least Felix helped us a lot in attacking and defending and was given the champagne moment for a back heel volley whilst jumping and it went straight to Ali who nearly scored. We won 4-2."
